Men’s SGG: “Courageous”

A 5 week study for men based on the movie “Courageous.” God is calling us to fight for our faith and for our families. He is calling us to follow Christ and live a life that is Courageous. It’s time to answer the Call.

Pastor Tim will be leading this group that will be meeting on Sunday nights at 6:00. We will begin on April 15th and complete the study on May 20th. We will be meeting in the Choir Room (room 6) of the new building.

Invitation to the Old Testament Short Term SSG

Starting on Sunday, April 22nd we will be offering a Short Term Spiritual Growth Group entitled “Invitation to the Old Testament”. This group will be led by Pastor Steve Schaal and will meet at 9:00 a.m. in Room 1. You can sign up for this group by stopping by the Discipleship Center in the Gathering Space or by filling out the tear off in the bulletin. This Short Term group will be 8 weeks long.

FLAMINGOS

We have received word of two incoming flocks of Flamingos that will be landing in the Marion area on April 23rd through May 3rd. These flocks are a part of the Student Ministry’s fundraising for their Honduras trip this summer. During these two weeks, you may have the privilege of having one of these flocks landing in your yard! If you do, we can remove them for you for a small fee and take them to the person of your choice. What if you do not want them to be in your yard? Well, you can purchase insurance. Stop by the table in the Gathering Space marked FLAMINGOS starting April 15th to get the details!

Red Cross Blood Drive

April 23, 2012 from 2-7p

in the Gathering Area

Qualifications of Blood Donors:

Must be at least 17 years of age or 16 years of age and have written and signed parental consent.
Must weigh at least 110 pounds, be of good general health and not be pregnant.
If you are a regular donor, you must wait 56 days between donations, this is for your health and safety.
Must be symptom free for 72 hours after a cold or influenza.
Must wait 24 hours after dental cleaning and 72 hours after tooth extractions or root canal.
If you have been to Honduras within the last 12 months, you are ineligible to donate blood.

If you are unable to donate blood for this drive, please consider donating your time to assist in making this drive successful. The Parish Nurses will have sign up sheets for appointment times for blood donations, working the drive at the registration desk, canteen service, or setting up and taking down restoring The Gathering Area. Watch for this opportunity in the Gathering Area. Please consider donating an hour of your time in some way to make this a successful drive.

Remember the blood you donate may save a life.

LADIES EVENT

Attention ALL women and girls!! Our ladies event is coming soon. “Lavender and Lace” will be April 21 at 6:00p in the Fellowship Hall. There is no cost but we ask you to bring a salad or dessert. We want all women, of all ages, and all girls to come and enjoy a wonderful evening of fun, food, fellowship and entertainment. We will have a style show, with the help of Marion Civic Theater. Please mark your calendar for this April 21. We will be taking reservations April 1-15 in the Gathering Area.

If you would like to be a model in the style show, please sign up when you make your reservation.

Easter

PALM SUNDAY:

Sunday, April 1st – Jesus coming to town stirred excitement and enthusiasm in the people. Join in the excitement as we rejoice that Jesus comes near. Children will be involved in worship with the waving of the palms.

HOLY THURSDAY:

Thursday, April 5th – A casual service of intimate worship. We will be meeting in The Gathering around the tables for acoustic worship, reflection, communion, and application.

Easter Egg Hunt:

Sunday, April 1 at 11:30. Start in the Fellowship Hall

EASTER:

Sunday, April 8th – The empty tomb changes everything! Join us for a celebration of freedom in Jesus. A surprise element will be included in worship.

Prayer Walkers Club

Have you vowed to gift fit this new year? Why note join our new walking club? Our church has the perfect walking climate year round to help you with your exercise goal.

We have mapped out a route in the church that will help you keep track of the miles you walk and you can even record them in the PWC journal that is located in the Gathering Area. The church is open Monday through Friday 8:00a to 4:00p plus some evenings.

You are free to come walk any time the church is open. While you are walking, why not take the opportunity to pray!
